Faucette Farms Comes to Smith Senior Center

A wonderful new service is now being offered at Smith Senior Center.  Faucette Farms is adding Smith Senior Center to their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and will now deliver fresh, certified organic produce to the center each Thursday at 1:30 pm beginning Thursday, June 2.

1270178469-q2How does the CSA program work?
As a CSA member, you pay upfront for a season of produce, and Faucette Farms will supply you with 12 weeks of seasonal vegetables, fruits, honey, preserves, dry goods and meat from their farm.  For example, a “Small Share” is $144 for 12 weeks, or just $12 per week, for fresh organic produce delivered to you.  Payment is due at your first delivery.  For more information on the sizes of shares, please see the attached flyer.

How do I enroll?
You may enroll in one of 3 ways:

  • By completing the online CSA registration form at faucettefarms.com Click on the “Community Supported Agriculture Sign-up Form” button in the middle of the page.
  • By completing the attached registration form and returning it to Smith Senior Center.
  • By calling Faucette Farms at 336-669-5083.

How do I place my weekly order?
Each week there will be a selection of vegetables, plus a variety of staples, available.  You can place your weekly order online at www.faucettefarms.com  Click on the “Order Your Fresh Produce” button in the middle of the page.  You can also fill out a paper order form and leave it at Smith Senior Center.  Orders must be received by Faucette Farms each Tuesday by 5 pm for delivery on Thursday at 1:30 pm.  If you cannot be at the center exactly at 1:30 pm, we can hold your order for you at the front desk until you get there.

When does the program start?
The CSA program will start at Smith Senior Center on Thursday, June 2.  However, you may enroll in the program at any time.  If you’re curious about the types of produce available and the amount that comes in a weekly delivery, feel free to come and see what other people receive in their orders.

We’re very excited to partner with Faucette Farms and provide fresh, organic produce to our participants and the surrounding community.  If you have any questions about the program call Jennie Matkins at 336-373-7566.

Please visit the Faucette Farms website for more information as well.
